Is pressure washing bad for a roof?
On tile and Colorbond, yes. High pressure cracks ridge capping, dislodges tiles, forces water into the roof cavity and strips protective coating. Soft washing gets a better result without any of that risk, which is why we only soft wash roofs.
How long until the moss comes back?
A soft wash typically keeps a roof clear for three to five years because it kills the spores rather than just knocking the growth off. A pressure clean often regrows within twelve months.
Do you clean Colorbond roofs?
Yes. Colorbond needs a gentler detergent than tile and no pressure at all on the coating. Done properly it comes back close to original colour.
